Terms & Conditions

  1. In order to rent items from Five O’Clock Tea, you must make a 50% deposit, have a valid credit card on file, and sign this rental agreement. This deposit is non-refundable. When you make a payment, you acknowledge that you have read this agreement in its entirety and agree to all its terms and conditions.
  2. You must finalize your item selection and complete your full payment no later than 1 week prior to your event date, to ensure that Five O’Clock Tea will hold all the items on your order.
  3. It is the customer’s responsibility to check that the delivery address (if applicable) is accurate.
  4. It is the customer's responsibility to insure that all the requested items are on the item list at time of signature of the contract, AND to inspect the rental items prior to their use at the event. Notification of any defects must be made on or before the date of the event.
  5. The customer acknowledges that Five O’Clock Tea’s items are vintage and most are going to have some wear, imperfections and signs of age. Such defects do not constitute a breach of contract.
  6. Customer assumes full responsibility for all rented items, including their safe and proper use, operation, maintenance, and return. Five O’Clock Tea will not be held responsible for any claims from use or misuse, including any third parties for loss, injury, and damage to persons or property arising out of the customer’s negligence or operation including legal costs incurred in defence of such claims.
  7. Returned items must be emptied, dried and food be wiped off (not scraped off) before being repackaged into the containers they came in. The customer agrees to NOT put any rented item in the dishwasher or microwave.
  8. Rental items must be returned on the night following the event date on the order. Late return fees will apply. After 3 days, if the items are not returned, Five O’Clock Tea reserves the right to charge the missing at full replacement value.
  9. A refundable 10% damage deposit will be applied to all orders. This deposit will be refunded upon the return of the items and after completion of the inspection process. Should any item(s) be damaged or missing, the full replacement value for those items will be deducted from the deposit. If the replacement value exceeds the deposit amount, additional payment will be required.
  10. Five O’Clock Tea reserves the right to charge the replacement costs in excess of your deposit to the credit card you have placed on file as per the credit card authorization form provided.
  11. Customer is responsible for all losses and damages. Third parties cannot be held responsible for payment of lost or damaged items.
  12. A replacement item of equal or greater value will be provided in the event that a rental item is unavailable last minute for any reason.
